Mastercard has unveiled its latest campaign, Dishes Served with a Side of Wonder, celebrating Kuwait’s vibrant culinary scene through a partnership with renowned chef Khaled Al Baker and aspiring young local chefs.
The campaign features a four-episode docuseries where Chef Khaled collaborates with talented young chefs, bringing their imaginative culinary creations to life. The initiative is part of Mastercard’s global ‘Priceless’ platform, designed to create memorable experiences that go beyond transactions.
“Food has a unique ability to bring people together and tell a story,” said Erdem Çakar, Country Manager for Qatar and Kuwait at Mastercard. “At Mastercard, we’re always exploring ways to enrich our cardholders’ lives by connecting them to what they love.”
The collaboration reflects Mastercard’s commitment to celebrating local culture and fostering meaningful connections. “Working with Chef Khaled to bring children’s culinary imaginations to life has been truly priceless,” added Çakar. “This initiative is about inspiring communities, celebrating creativity, and highlighting the pride in Kuwaiti heritage.”
The campaign concluded with a series of communal dinners at Al Shaheed Park in Kuwait City, where Mastercard and Chef Khaled hosted an audience of consumers, influencers, and partner bank representatives. Guests enjoyed innovative takes on classic Kuwaiti dishes, including the Enchanted Basboosacake and Zuhal Machboos, a cosmic reimagining of Kuwait’s national dish.
Chef Khaled emphasized the importance of this partnership in showcasing the evolution of Kuwaiti cuisine. “Kuwaiti food is evolving and gaining global recognition,” he said. “This initiative honors our culinary roots while engaging the next generation to share their creativity through food. I’m thrilled to be part of such a meaningful project.”
